Hi, I’m Miranda.

I am an LMFT and a mother of two littles. I am deeply passionate about empowering fellow mamas to thrive and discover deeper meaning in their motherhood experience.

After becoming a mother myself, I quickly realized one thing: mothers deserve better. This is why I created MotherWise, a platform designed to support mothers like you through psychotherapy, online courses, podcast episodes, and other resources.

Let's embark on this transformative journey together, turning the challenges of motherhood into opportunities for growth and Self-discovery. You don't have to navigate this path alone—I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Mental health support for pregnancy, relationships, postpartum, parenting, trauma, grief, loss, and more.

I want to help you go from surviving to thriving in motherhood.

I specialize in:

  • Motherhood is a profound journey that can significantly shift your sense of identity. As you navigate the new responsibilities and emotional landscape of being a mother, you may find yourself questioning who you are beyond the role of a caregiver. This transformation can be both exhilarating and overwhelming, as it often brings to light aspects of yourself that you never knew existed. I'm here to support you through this identity shift, helping you integrate your new role with your personal aspirations and sense of self. Together, we'll explore your evolving identity, address any challenges, and empower you to embrace this new chapter with confidence and clarity. Let's work together to ensure that your journey into motherhood is also a journey of personal growth and self-discovery.

  • Postpartum rage is a powerful and often misunderstood emotion that many new mothers experience. It can feel overwhelming and isolating, especially in a society that tends to shun expressions of anger, particularly from women. I am deeply passionate about working with postpartum rage because I believe it is a valid and important emotion that deserves to be acknowledged and understood. Using parts work based in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help mothers explore and work with this part of themselves. IFS allows us to identify and understand the different parts of our psyche, including the part that holds rage. By giving this part a voice and understanding its origins, we can transform and integrate it in a healthy way. My goal is to help you navigate these intense feelings, find balance, and reclaim your sense of peace and empowerment. You don't have to face this alone—I'm here to support you every step of the way.

  • Whether you start feeling down, overwhelmed, or hopeless right after birth or months later, postpartum depression can sneak up on you. Maybe you're finding yourself more irritable or struggling to get out of bed. Perhaps connecting with your baby feels harder than you expected, and you're worried about being a good mom. No matter when these feelings arise, reaching out for support can make a world of difference. Parenthood can feel isolating, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I'm here to help you manage these tough emotions, strengthen your bond with your baby, and equip you with the tools to improve your mental well-being.

  • While postpartum depression often gets the spotlight, postpartum anxiety is actually more common than you might think. And it's no wonder—raising a child brings a whirlwind of worries and fears. From breastfeeding challenges to sleep issues, many moms feel lost and overwhelmed, triggering intense anxiety. With so much conflicting advice out there, trusting your instincts and feeling confident in your decisions can seem impossible.

But you don't have to navigate this alone. I'm here to help you find your footing and manage your anxiety, so you can stop the endless spiraling and late-night Googling and learn to tune into yourself. Together, we'll work on building your confidence as a mother, helping you feel more settled, present, and engaged with your baby. Let's turn those anxious moments into opportunities for growth and connection.

  • Motherhood often puts strain on your relationships, as so much of your time and energy is dedicated to your child(ren), leaving little for your partner or even yourself. I support mothers in navigating and strengthening these vital relationships, whether it's with their partners, children, or their Selves. Through individualized therapy (using IFS) and practical guidance, I help you address communication challenges, resolve conflicts, and build deeper connections. My goal is to empower you to create harmonious and fulfilling relationships that enrich your motherhood journey and overall well-being.

  • Guilt and shame are pervasive and often debilitating emotions that many people experience, and they can be especially intense for mothers. Mom guilt and shame can arise from a multitude of sources—whether it's feeling like you're not spending enough time with your children, questioning your parenting decisions, or struggling to balance work and family life. I am deeply passionate about working with these emotions because, while common, they are often shrouded in silence and stigma. Using parts work based in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help mothers explore and understand the parts of themselves that hold guilt and shame. IFS allows us to identify and compassionately engage with these parts, uncovering their roots and transforming their impact on your life. My goal is to help you navigate these feelings, release the burden of guilt and shame, and embrace a more balanced and self-compassionate approach to motherhood. You don't have to carry this weight alone—I'm here to support you in finding peace and self-acceptance.n

  • Becoming a mother can sometimes bring unresolved issues from our own childhood to the surface, especially if our upbringing was less than ideal. It's common for new moms to worry about how their past experiences might affect their sense of self and overall well-being. You might find yourself questioning whether your choices are truly your own or if they're influenced by old patterns and relationships. I'm here to help you untangle these complex emotions and foster a nurturing, healthy relationship with yourself. Together, we'll explore your past, heal old wounds, and support your journey toward personal growth and self-discovery, all while embracing your identity as a mother and improving your relationship with your child(ren).

  • Grief is a complex and multifaceted emotion that many mothers experience, often in ways that are deeply personal and unique. Whether it's grieving the loss of the archetypal maiden self as you transition into motherhood, mourning the loss of a parent, or coping with the heartbreak of a miscarriage, grief can manifest in many forms. Mothers might also experience grief over unmet expectations, changes in their relationships, or the loss of personal freedom and identity. I understand that these feelings of grief can be overwhelming and isolating. My approach is to provide a compassionate and supportive space where you can explore and process these emotions. Together, we can navigate the layers of grief, honor your losses, and find a path toward healing and acceptance. You don't have to face this journey alone—I'm here to support you every step of the way.
